You are correct. I'm a retired principal and a teacher of English. I studied all these theories of Stephen Krashen, Noam Chomsky etc. and educational psychology. As you say when a child starts speaking a language and if he is obstructed by keeping correcting the child's grammar errors, he gets bit embarrassed to make language errors. That finally results in natural process of language acquisition in the child being hindered. Small children acquire language effortlessly subconsciously. Language correction happens through self correction by listening to adults. Most of the people may not take interest to read these psycholinguistics theories but keep up the good work.
